    UCSC-HKU Summer Space Program - Faculty-Led Summer Study Abroad

    Special dates - June 17 to July 20

    Join Professor Pablo Saz Parkinson next summer for a 5-week summer course hosted by The University of Hong Kong (HKU) Summer Institute. This program will provide an overview of past, present, and future space missions, with an emphasis on key players in the US (NASA), Europe (ESA), and China (CNSA). Must apply through UCSC Study Abroad office 

    Course:

    The Space-Age Solar System (5 units) - required 

    Scientific study of the Moon, Earth, Mercury, Venus, and Mars by the space program; history of rocket development; the Apollo program and exploration of the Moon; unmanned spacecraft studies of the terrestrial planets; scientific theories of planetary surfaces and atmospheres. Intended for nonscience majors. (General Education Code(s): SI.)
