Course Enrollment

Summer Academy course enrollment: May 1 – August 2, 2018

Once you have completed all steps to register for the Summer Academy program, please see below for next steps on course enrollment. Students take two courses for a total of 7 credits.

Course #1 (required)
Navigating the Research University (STEV 26) - Section 01 or Section 02

Enrollment process: you will be automatically enrolled in this course
Course #2 
If you are not required to take the Advanced Academic English course, you may enroll in a second course of your choice offered during session 2. Guidance on selecting courses.

Credits: 5

Enrollment process: Self-enroll 

Once you have registered for Summer Academy and have received your UCSC Gold and Blue passwords via email, login to to add/drop summer classes. Click here for more information on how to enroll in courses

Choose from over 100 classes* towards your degree! Tackle a prerequisite for fall, take advantage of smaller class sizes and complete a General Education requirement, pursue an area of study you are passionate about. Start your degree, GPA, and the path to graduation strong!

Credits: 5
Enrollment process: You will be automatically enrolled in this course depending on your TOEFL, IELTS, ACT scores. There will be no need for an additional writing assessment when you arrive on campus.

Important reminder: The Summer Academy program takes place during Session 2 of the summer quarter. Please select course(s) offered during Session 2.

  • See the Summer Session website for a list of classes offered during the summer.
  • Explore summer courses through class search. Be sure to select the ‘Summer Quarter’ term and ‘Summer Session 2 (5 Weeks).
