Calculating Your Fees

  • Summer tuition is $273 per credit - for ALL students, in and out-of-state.
  • Campus Fee of $287 is charged to all students taking courses on campus. 
  • Online courses, independent/field study, or internships are not charged the Campus Fee. If it appears in your account, please contact us and we will remove it.

Cross-outs indicate the $680 discount if you complete 15 credits or more over the whole summer (can be taken in one session or over both sessions). Last summer, 608 students completed 15 or more units and their average summer GPA was 3.09!

UCSC Undergraduate Students

  • $0 – Registration Fee (UCSC students do not need to register, just enroll like the rest of the year!)
  • $287 - Campus Fee
  • $273 - 2017 Tuition per credit
  • $680 off* 15 credits or more (*does not apply to Summer Academy students)

Visiting Students (not enrolled at UCSC: students enrolled at other UC's or Universities, high schoolers, international students, all are welcome!)

  • $50 - Registration Fee
  • $287 - Campus Fee
  • $273 - 2017 Tuition per credit
  • $680 off 15 credits or more

Graduate Independent Studies

  • $342 - Registration fee for 5 credits
  • $684 - Registration fee for 10 credits 
  • Continuing UC students can apply Cal Vet Fee Waivers in summer too!  Not eligible for $680 discount if waiver is used.

What is refundable?

  • If you enroll, you're committing to all tuition and fees.  
  • If you "drop" a class on my.ucsc.edu by the deadline, you are refunded. Please see our Refund Policy and mark your calendars with these important deadlines

Per University Policy, if you "drop" all your classes, you will be charged a $50 non-refundable cancellation fee, even if you drop before classes begin. Please see our Refund Policy.

When can I pay?

  • You may start paying any time after charges are posted to your account.
  • Students eligible for financial aid will receive aid shortly before the session begins. If you're in classes both sessions, it will be split between the two. It will credit directly to your billing account and any remaining tuition and fees can be paid using payment options below.  
  • UCSC students... visit our Financial Aid Office for an estimate of your package.
  • Visitors... please contact the aid office at your campus.

Payment Deadlines

  • To see your charges and due dates and/or view your billing statements, log on to my.ucsc.edu.  Click on the My Account $ tile.  You will see your charges due by due date.  Click on the green 'arrow' to see the detail of the charges due.  To view your billing statements, you can click on UCSC eBill/ePay or click on Billing Statements on the left.

How can I pay?

Several ways to pay...

(a) Credit Card:

  • You may use the credit card to pay only for the registration fee, campus fees, summer course fees and summer on-campus housing.

  • You will be charged a non-refundable convenience fee of 2.0% of the total fees paid by the vendor when paying by credit card.

  • The credit card option is not available for Masters in Education program.

(b) eCheck:

  • eCheck payments make a payment from your checking/savings account – like writing a check. 
  • UCSC/SBS echeck payment: make an eCheck payment via our standard UCSC eBill/ePay link in my.ucsc.edu.
  • Sign on to my.ucsc.edu> My Account $ > UCSC eBill/ePay

(c) Cash/Check/Money Order:

  • Pay in person with cash/check/money order at the Cashier's Office in the Hahn Building.
  • Pay by mail: send check or money order, payable to UC Regents to:
    • Cashiers Office – UCSC, 1156 High Street, Santa Cruz, CA 95064
    • Please be sure to include your student ID on the ‘memo’ line of the check/money orders
