Housing & Dining
Summer Academy housing applications will be accepted beginning Wednesday, May 10.
On-campus housing is required for First Year and International Academy students. All Summer Session and Summer Academy students are housed at one of UCSC’s ten beautiful colleges. For Summer 2017, students will live in Porter college, home to the iconic Porter Squiggle!
While Academy students have the opportunity to connect with current UCSC students enrolled in Summer Session, separate housing is reserved especially for International students, their International Academy Peer Mentors, and Residence Assistants (RAs).
Summer Academy housing gives Academy students the opportunity to dorm together, get to know one another, experience residential life at UCSC, build a community of International students before the fall, and explore Santa Cruz with new friends from around the world! International Academy students will also be able to participate in on-campus events and activities organized by their Peer Mentors and RAs.
Summer Academy Move-in
First Year and International Academy students will move into Porter College on Sunday, July 23 followed by a week of Summer Academy orientation and welcome activities before classes begin on Monday, July 31. This first week on campus include events and activities such as the Summer Academy Meet & Greet, important residence halls meetings, Frosh Orientation, hikes, scavenger hunts, campus tours, BBQ and bonfire at Seabright Beach and other fun times in and around Santa Cruz!
Complimentary airport pickup is available to all International Academy students on move-in day. If you can, please book your flight to arrive at the Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC) on Sunday, July 23. If your airline does not fly into San Jose, book to San Francisco International Airport (SFO). The airport in San Jose is much closer to UCSC.
The deadline to submit your flight itinerary to firstname.lastname@example.org is July 10.
