WHO CAN ATTEND & HOW TO ENROLL

Eligibility

Summer Session has an open enrollment policy, meaning any person over 18 years of age may attend, unless barred from enrollment at UCSC for disciplinary or financial (such as delinquent loan payments) reasons.  UCSC students barred for academic reasons may attend to improve your standing.  Attendance in Summer Session does not reduce the number of quarters a student may attend UCSC within the four-year, twelve-quarter limit.

High School Students
High school students who will be Juniors or Seniors in fall 2010 may enroll in introductory, lower-division Summer Session courses with the submission of the regular online application and a special verification form (requiring the high school seal).  This form also requires the high school administration to list the cumulative GPA, and affirm completion of the sophomore or junior year.  Forms available to download here beginning March 29.

International Students (needing Visas)

Please see the information under  Application.

Senior Audit Program

Community members who will be at least 55 years old by June 21, 2010, are eligible to purchase a Senior Audit Card for $25. Eligible participants may then audit most courses with the consent of the instructor. Please see detailed information under Special Programs. Complete applications must be received at least one week before the start of the session.

HOW TO ENROLL

Enrollment for EVERYONE begins Monday, April 19, 2010 at my.ucsc.edu (with no enrollment appointments or priority enrollment).

Enrollment in Summer Session is open, and all course enrollment is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Classes with limited enrollment may close early, so please enroll as soon as possible in order to ensure a place in class. If you are taking courses in both sessions, you need only enroll for the first session and then add the other courses later at my.ucsc.edu.

Current UCSC Students (enrolled in Fall 2009 and/or Winter 2010 and/or Spring Quarter 2010 courses): enroll for Summer Session courses at my.ucsc.edu beginning April 19 .  There are no priority enrollment appointments in the summer, so in "My Student Center" proceed directly to "Enroll" in "Summer Quarter".
